The Apprentice

I gave up watching this programme during the last series because it started to bore me. Then I read that the task on last night’s programme was to set up and run bus tours. Just the sort of thing to interest me I thought. But, what a waste of time! I wouldn’t employ any one of this year’s contestants – complete waste of space. The only bit of the programme which made me sit up was seeing where the winning team were sent as their reward for ‘success’ – The Atlantic Hotel, Jersey where Essy and I spent our honeymoon 4 years ago.

I’m going to disagree on this one – The Apprentice for me is ‘must watch’ TV.

It is of course reality TV, which I normally avoid like the plague, but it is also supposed to be light entertainment, hence the emphasis on the bickering and bitching rather than the task at hand. The contestants are built up by the producers as the series progresses so that their eventual demise is often hilariously funny.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lord Sugar struggle so much with his decision on who should be fired as he did on the Tour task.

Despite ripping us off for exorbitant TV licence fees each year, the BBC programs are crap. I too noticed that ‘The Apprentice’ show last night was going to show all the young ‘know alls’ attempting to run bus tours in London, but knowing how complex it is to set up and run bus services in this day and age, and what a load of prats the BBC are, I didn’t trouble to watch the program, and in view of what’s been said on this very web-site I’m bloody glad that I didn’t watch this nonsense!!!
