Yesterday I mentioned Essy’s Mum and how Essy had got her an appointment with a private doctor. Well, today she saw him in Harare and the bad news is she’s been admitted to hospital. They have taken blood for testing and more explorations are to come. I’m quite worried about it but it is worse for Essy.
Thanks for asking, Jeff. The problem I have at the moment is communications with Essy, because her mother is in hospital in Harare she is staying in Harare with her sister who lives there but her sister doesn’t have a landline. Calling a landline in Zimbabwe usually works and is of adequate quality, calling a mobile is a totally different thing. Often you get ringing tone which gets your hopes up but infact the mobile is not ringing at all even though it’s switched on and indicates that it’s got a signal :-( Examination of my ‘phone bill also shows that charging starts when I hear a ring tone – that’s not good. Texting is pretty reliable but it’s not a good medium in which to have a serious conversation!
The latest is that the lumber puncture tests haven’t shown anything abnormal but she continues to be unwell. Essy’s words in her last text were “am worried she might be in hospital until I leave” that will be Thurs next week, the 10th.
Hi malc, any news on Essy’s mum?
I didn’t know the site was down, but ……. I only drive the buses :-) It’s always down in the early hours of the morning everyday for maintenance.
ps sorry to hear about essys mum,
How the hell do you contact megabus when their website is down as it has been for some time. I would have thought a companyu like this would have at LEAST mirrored sites so if one packs up the other can be brought into service. even better would be a backup site so any viruses etc would not contaminate both of them.
What can one say…except good luck to Essy’s mum…
